(Norfolk series)
Norfolk soils are very extensive in the Coastal Plains of the southeastern
USA, where they have formed in loamy marine sediments. The Bt horizons typically have sandy clay loam or clay loam textures and extend to a depth of 5 feet or more.
Although
once forested, these well-drained soils have mostly been cleared of trees and
used to produce a variety of agricultural crops. For more information on Norfolk
