Torriorthent landscape
Cassia Co., Idaho

This southern Idaho landscape consists of low terraces and gently sloping fans as seen in the foreground. Mean annual precipitation is ~8" (200 mm).

The field shown here is in irrigated wheat production. Silt loam textures and the lack of impeding subsoil layers make the soils very well suited for irrigated agriculture.
