  -Guy serves as President and Board member of the nonprofit corporation Paloma Institute.  Paloma Institute is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization that conducts research, policy analysis, and project fundraising at the interface of agriculture, environment, public health, and social justice.  Several current projects relate to agricultural pest management, environmental protection, and public health concerns in Haiti, in collaboration with local Haitian groups.  Paloma Institute is not affiliated with the University of Idaho.                                                                                          Learn more about Paloma Institute here:  http://www.paloma-institute.org

Research Program: Soil Microbiology and Microbial Ecology

  • biological control of plant pathogens using antagonistic bacteria & fungi
  • soil and rhizosphere microbial associations with indigenous plant species

  • fate of genetically engineered microorganisms in the environment
  • prediction and management of fungal epizootics of insect pests
